Ah the old "your brakes are worn out/dangerous and should be changed" money-grabbing lie. It's a standard LR main dealer(*) game-play in order to make a few hundred quid for very little work.

Recently had similar…booked my G4 D3 for a service to keep the history up…as luck would have it the ignition light illuminated en route to the dealer indicating the alternator decided to end its life….

Unless you have a LR warranty then avoid main dealers and find a decent local independent LR specialist is the #1 advice I give to lots of people all too frequently Visitor from fullfatrr.com

Unless the warranty is the original manufacturers warranty, you can still go elsewhere. LR's aftermarket warranty will deal with indies so there isn't a need to use the dealerships with that one. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
