HI All,

Just completed the 6 year service on my wife's car - 31k miles, looks like new, great spec but I am getting tired of having to take the car to the dealer for warranty issues.

The latest issue - airbag light remains on - had this twice before and its a known issue and a cable harness needs to be replaced under the drivers seat. I regularly have the oil dilution issue but managing this now with a regular "costco run" up the A1 on a weekly basis (which is expensive in its own right buying stuff I don't need

So I'm now thinking - should I change the car ? I've looked at the X5, X7, Q8...but then come back to still preferring the RRS - its a lovely car, comfortable, practical (i have a 6 year old and a 5 month old).

Have you guys had similar thoughts ?

If the airbag light is a known issue, why not just get it fixed and carry on with the car?

If you get regular oil dilution issues then that would suggest you're using the car for short journeys and not giving it time to warm up properly, and do its thing.

Drive it more and you won't have oil dilution issues.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Agreed on the oil dilution issue. One LR dealer attemtped twice to fix the airbag issue - lets hope the new one (Beadles Watford) actually get the fix right.

Also noticing 2nd hand values are on the rise.....

I had similar on my L320 after a battery swap, and all things pointed to a sensor or cable break but in the end it was quicker to replace the Airbag ECU at about £650 which was under the centre console, sorted the issue, (on another note the airbag ECU collects the crash data if you had one, so swapping for a used one wont really work) Maybe L494 is different on that one though If a jobs worth doing, get a someone who knows what they are doing to do it!
