Egr blanking simple solution

Been in contact with a engine tuning company to blank egr valves and remap ecu to delete egr, he says don’t need to blank egr valves as they make sure egr valves are closed via diagnostics and then delete egr from ecu and the valves remain closed permanently, does this sound so simple and work, if the valves are closed then cannot see why this won’t work.
They withdraw the ecu software and remap it and reinstall. What you think.

No gap iid, if I remove the EGR pipes and blank use the 4 blanking plates and also remove the butterfly valve it will put the EML light on I know, but will it go into limp mode as I will drive it the indi about 12 miles away to do the remap.

Driving 12m in limp mode is no issue - so just take the vehicle to your indi. But if your EGRs are stuck open causing you problems now and an eml, then the remap cannot work because they have to be able to close the valves and if they are stuck it is not going to happen. Hence the reason you blank them. 07MY RRS TDV6

I don't believe the code limits power, so you should be fine driving 12 miles.

What limits power is the EGRs staying open forcing all those fumes into the engine when it needs fresh air to develop power. 07MY RRS TDV6

EGRs valves are working fine, what I will do is let the indi do all the work then it’s done might be the root to go I think.

Cheers

Well if you are looking at the electronic solution why are you looking at blanking and removing the pipes - not needed when the new program closes the EGRs and deletes the function from the ECU - blanking not needed. 07MY RRS TDV6
