Hi all
Been searching for a car for a while, things keep changing so car keeps getting delayed. Potential new job that would involve a 80 mile round trip commute. Heart says RRS would be great but head says 'what about the reliability issues and costs to run'.
Anyone else use theirs in a similar way/any opinions?

Used mine for a daily commute of 60 miles per day before I retired a year ago, only advice I can offer is find one with a full history & then a good independent for servicing/repairs , they are a very comfortable vehicle to spend time in good luck with your search.

40 miles each way, especially if a good portion is A-road or motorway type driving, is what the RRS wants. Short journeys are no good for them at all, especially if they're mostly in urban traffic / low speed.
Reliability is helped by using a decent Land Rover independent garage. Avoid main dealers - they're expensive and generally poor (although there is the occasional good one it seems from reading posts on here over the years).
Drive it and don't scrimp on things and it will be as reliable as any other car. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Just finished six months doing a daily round trip of 88 miles on DC A road and motorway. Lovely way to get to and from work and comfort far outweighed the average fuel economy. Had a flat tyre once but that was it.Ferrari F430 Spider F1

My last three work cars have been L494 RRS’s...... an SDV6, a 5.0S and latterly an SVR... I do at least 25,000 per annum for work and all three have been outstanding... none have broken down and the cars have been perfect for a commute often of 150-200 miles a day when travelling to Head Office.
I could easily travel from Kent to Newcastle and back in a day and frankly the cars have been sublime... which is why I keep buying them!
Best holiday ever in 2019 when over 2 1/2 weeks we drove down over the Alps and down to Rome and the Amalfi coast. Car was faultless! Stunning locations and I couldn’t think of a better car to do it in!
