Amplifier Problem

I have a very annoying issue with my 2010 RRS.

When music is played, very loud static noise suddenly starts blasting out of the speakers and will not stop until the car is turned off and locked with the key fob. Turning the engine off alone does not make the sound go away.

This used to happen once a month or so, but now it happens multiple times a day. The sound is deafening and I have to park up straight away once it starts and sort it.

I noticed when the Amplifier (under drivers seat) is disconnected (either via the power cable or either disconnecing the optical cable) the sound stops. So my guess is the amplifier is faulty. I opened it up and had a look inside using my basic electronic knowledge but can't find any issues. No signs of any water damage or anything.

Is it worth buying a new amplifier of ebay and hope this is the issue? Or could the issue be something else?

Tried a third amp today and still have the same issue. So pretty sure it's not the amp that is faulty

Few things I've noticed,:
1. When the problem occurrs, the screen starts disabling/enabling all the input sources very quickly, it looks like it's trying to connect to the amp but can't. When I disconnect the amp when the music is playing (disconnect power cable), it does the same thing.
2. On the second and third Amp I tried, the loud static noise doesnt happen. It just stops playing the music and disabled and enables the inputs.
3. The problem only occurrs in the first 5mins or so of turning the engine on, and its about a 50/50 chance of it happening. If it doesnt happen in the first 5mins, I can drive for hours without the problem occurring so I don't think there is a loose connection. However when I turn the engine off and on again, there is a 50/50 chance of it happening again within 5mins.

I could potentially connect a switch to the amp power and put it within reach of the driver seat. So if the problem occurrs, I switch the amp off and on again and do so until it works. I really don't want to do this though.

What else could it be? Could it be the screen unit that is faulty?

I wonder if something on the optical bus is causing problems.
The Bluetooth is notorious for failing. You could buy one of them loop out connectors and loop out each device in turn to see when it goes away.

1 Bluetooth
2 lcd.

I assume you have checked the amp fuse is clean behind glovebox.

You should also check the battery voltage when you have the fault.
15v is ok. 16v is high and could be an alternator issue

I haven't checked the fuse as I know the amp is getting power so didn't think to check that.

Could you provide some more information on the loop out device? What are they? Do you have any links?
