MY15.5 ULEZ / EU Question

Have left a deposit on a MY2015.5 Autobiography with the 3.0 306hp engine.

The HPI check say EU6
Vehicle Enquiry says EU Status Not Available
ULEZ Checker says £12.50 daily fee
Birmingham CAZ says £8 daily fee

I thought these cars were supposed to be ULEZ exempt given it is the new engine? It also doesn't have AdBlue. I think it's a bit of an in-between model.

Please can someone help or confirm what the deal is? Given we will be expecting more and more ULEZ zones it would be nice to know what to expect!

Thanks!

I am no expert on this......
However a quick google suggests all land rovers from sept 2015 have added addblue making them euro 6 before that was
( euro 5 NO addblue).

I would hazard a guess, that with the financial situation most local towns and city's are in right now. We could see more and more joining the ulez scheme to claw some revenue in... Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Jaws,

Checked my 67 plate ab with adblue & sdv6 306 hp engine, chargeable in London but no charge in Birmingham caz, if this is a big issue ie traveling there regularly, you need a later model with adblue. One thing that did shock me is my neighbours p400e is chargeable in London, same daily rate as mine, even though is co2 value is around 35% of my car & it could be running on full electric in & out of the zone!

Thankfully it makes Censored all difference to me down in Plymouth but I don't really want to end up with a car that is completely worthless as it's getting charged left right and centre in a couple years! I have left a deposit but in 2 minds whether to hang out for a 65 plate which should be a MY16 and have AdBlue but sounds like it might still be charged. Very confusing!

nevermind the AdBlue, make sure you have a bulletproof warranty for when the crank snaps Whistle --

Buying from main dealer, full MD history plus 12 months warranty. Whilst I appreciate LR apparently don't cover the crank, I would expect 100% goodwill at that rate... It's not my biggest concern, I've owned a Porsche 997 and all everyone spoke about on that was bore score. Internet forums are always the same Sheep

Hi Malc,

A 67 plate will have EU6 engine whicj is ULEZ compliant and therefore not subject the daily ULEZ charge.

However all cars have to.pay the congestion charge which is separate charge.

Any car feom Sept 2015 had to be EU6...some manufactuers rolled out EU6 engines earlier. I had a 64 plate Mercedes ML which was EU6.

Jaws

If it is EU6 engine, it won't be charged for ULEZ BUT will be charged for Congestion Charge (CC).

This is what I can’t get my head around! I tried the ULEZ check and it said I needed to pay. I guess you can appeal it though. All the other cars similar on auto trader say ULEZ and the same thing in the ULEZ Check site.

Maybe it’s a good thing! No AdBlue to pay, same lower road tax rate and hopefully no ULEZ! Could be a sweet spot. The other MY16 upgrades seem pretty minimal.

Jaws - congrats great car. I’m fairly sure if it doesn’t have Adblue then it will not be EU6. However, as you say, this may be an advantage.

I also agree with you on the crank snapping thing - forums massively exaggerate these issues for obvious reasons. I have an AM DB9 and the forum is full of people getting scared of “primary cat ingestion” (!) and my old Boxster forum was full of people ranting about IMS bearings etc.

Hope you enjoy it - they’re lovely cars!

One less thing to go wrong I hope, I was more concerned about future-proofing myself and also I didn't want to see the arse fall out of non-ULEZ cars but I imagine that would have happened already given it's been in a while.

Anyway, I'm happy with the purchase. It's a beautiful looking car and from what I can see I've negotiated a keen price!

Jaws,

It’s your car check entry under EU compliance that’s causing your problem, as well as the ULEZ checker.

My 19MY AB is down as EU6 AG and not subject to the ULEZ charge.

On the flip side, I’ve run both my historic vehicles (which should be exempt) through the ULEZ checker and they want me to pay!!!!

I think you need to get you EU compliance onto the DVLA record and your V5C and you’ll be OK.
