Alright Guys,

Thought I'd separate this out for everyone and not just the SDV8 people from my other thread.

For the InControl system my car had a version of 20C on it (brandnew late registered MY20 SDV8) and telematics of 18.2

Basically the Apple Carplay or anything connected to the usb sockets in the centre console seems to randomly cut out - I don't even think its the USB panel - or bumps in the road as its done it whilst the car was at a standstill and just ticking over.

Has anyone else had this?

I've just upgraded to a slightly higher build of 20C and the latest telematics of 19.2 and I think its possibly stopped (haven't driven long enought to tell) but now the audio is crackling instead of the screen blacking out.

(Tried multiple cables most were official - did the same thing with a USB map update on a Sandisk USB so don't think its device related).

Was on; InControl Pro S20C_20.43.1-618886 and TCU 18.2
Now on; InControl Pro S20C1_20.48.3-635557 and TCU 19.2

I had a similar experience this weekend when my iPhone was replaced, mine seemed to be related to battery level on the phone. When it was down at 35% it was constantly connecting and disconnecting.

The next day when fully charged it was rock stable and did not drop out once. ------------------------------------------------------------------

Thanks Mark, yeah I read somewhere about low charge as well.

Its just strange that moving to 20C1 seems to have stopped it (only driven it once so no idea if thats the reality) but if you go on the Evoque forums someone starts having the issue with 20C1 so doesn't seem like there's any rhyme or reason to it.

I have a feeling its an actual hardware issue with the unit that controls the USB connections produced in a certain run of cars, as I've had cars built before this one that never did this at all!!

(I've noticed a common theme surrounding the cars specifically being circa MY20 though which mine is) Non JLR Vehicle
