Thanks for the response. Certainly feels like prop due to the frequency of the vibration.

Hmm. Others here may have some more ideas but might be worth looking for a good local indie to take a look at it Robin

Is there a piece of trim that is loose? Something that flaps about in the airflow might just get to a resonance at a certain speed. There are various bits of trim - wheel arch liners, air deflectors under the front bumper, under cill trim, lower door trim panels. There are also some some NVH damper weights around the car, two particularly large ones that should be free to move on the chassis rails behind the rear wheels. I think there are some on the chassis further forward but these don't move. There are also vibration damper weights on the front brake calipers.

Stab in the dark but front diff. I’ve always thought I had somet doanong and vib through the steering wheel on mine since I got it. SWMBO said she couldn’t hear anything so left it. Fast forward a few years and there was a definite drone on or off throttle starting around 50mph+. Indie confirmed a grumbly diff using a sound stick and so just last month the diff was replaced and the car is now silent, I mean silent 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |
