Back in RRS :) HST D350

Good morning RRS junkies Smile

Many of you have read a few comments from me, and then, I dissapeared.

I had a beautiful and stunning MY16 SDV6 AB Dyn. in Firenze red and sold it, because of the possibility of a crankshaft issue. Never had any single issue with the beauty..

Then, I bought a nearly new Volvo XC60. A great car, to be honest. A compare with the RRS is obsolete and not needed because they play in different leagues.
As I bought the Volvo, I swore to myself to buy a RRS again in... 7-10years.

What happened in the meantime?
I read, that LR is implementing the new I6D engine in the L494! I thought: "o my god, how crazy is that? Ok, I need to drive one"

Two weeks ago I had the possibility to drive a D300 HSE Dyn. What a car! A big, big step forward compared to my MY16 RRS.
Yeah, and then.. they offered me my desired car...
2 weeks of thinking, speaking with my wife and parents, dreaming about itd...

What happened? I put the order this Wednesday for a new RRS. Today, I am going to hand over my Volvo to the LR dealer.

Now, waiting until July..

The specs:
RRS HST
D350
Firenze red
22" rims
Headup
Surround camera system
Premium floor mats
Heat reflecting windscreen
Extended aluminium trim
Tinted windows from B pillar
ACC
Sparewheel
Heated steering wheel
Ebony/Ivory interior with Ivory headliner

As the HST has a lot of nice things as standard equipment (at least here in Switzerland), I put only the really needed things, which I will use..

I am so happy and so thankful, that I have the possibility to own again a RRS.
Glad to share my happiness witb you

Today: hand over of the Volvo and officially sign the order

Cheers
Haris

Did you not consider the P400 petrol engine, is an absolute peach!

RRS sold and replaced with a Skoda Kodiaq after appalling RR Dealer experience and LR inability to supply new cars in any sort of reasonable time frame..

Sounds amazing - I am following a similar path going from a Volvo XC90 (frankly really competent at everything it does but feels like driving a very well designed reliable fridge or washing machine - just can't get excited or emotional about it). Going for Firenze red D300 with black roof + toys.

I came from an XC60 2.0L diesel. I would say that 90% of mileage was long motorway runs, during my four years ownership time it needed:
New alternator
New clutch
New rear springs
New front wheel bearings
New cylinder head

It was serviced to the letter by a good indy.
On a long journey, without any warning the auxiliary belt snapped. Should be no big deal but due to frankly poor design, the belt is able to get tangled up in the cam belt. Result, a completely destroyed head as it took out the camshaft mountings.

Given this history, I'm not worried about my RRS. RRS HSE Dynamic SDV6 2014

@all
thanks for your positive replies Smile

@timhum
the P400 sounds amazing, but in my opinion for such a large car a Diesel fits perfect (everyone has its own flavor - I see you have a P400 Smile )
yes, I drive only 12000-15000km p.a., BUT: three to four times a year I drive 1000km to my holiday destination and back - means ca. 7000-10000km p.a. only for long journeys. the rest kilometers I drive longer journeys in Switzerland
for "super-short" drives I have a Mini Cooper S besides the RRS as a "daily driving machine"

the Volvo was my first petrol engine and it is great, but I am addicted to Diesels. the newest Diesels are very clean.. (the politics in Europe and EU are taking the Diesels in a bad light, but I don't care..)

I see you have an Ivory interior. also the headliner? do you mind to take some pictures?

@Eagle77
it's crazy - I hand over my Volvo today and there was also a XC90 driver, who was in a selling discussion.. the topic: the L494

there was a Autobiography green HST P400 with an Ebony interior. just amazing with the carbon details outside and the suede details inside... Just can't wait until July Smile
Build date: May

cheers
