Hi recently had my cambelts changed gearbox and transfer box oil changed and class B service.I had a full 5 ltr OAT antifreeze pre mixed type that I gave garage Land Rover Independent the Antifreeze to use .I recently had the coolant low message only twice pop up checked coolant and it was fine.I know the coolant expansion tanks have an issue with the float going pourus. I ordered a replacement tank but was thinking as the float is a gravity specific float apparently I thought why not drain a bit of the pre mix antifreeze out and add equivalent antifreeze but concentrate this time I didn’t have a gravity tester so was just of a shot in the dark so to speak.
Using a large syringe and some rubber pipe I just sucked out 400ml and put back in equivalent concentrate and so far no issues.
Just a thought in case anyone else had a similar issue in similar circumstances fingers crossed it continues not to have a problem.
At least I got the new expansion tank in its box if I need to replace it.
