I fitted my remote FBH functionality for a lot less than that! About £120 from memory.

Is it possible that everything required is in place and it's just the fob that you are missing??. I have the T91 unit fitted to mine, which is original and also the miniature fob that turns the unit off or on. Quite easy for these things to disappear during change of ownership.

I've never actually looked for the modules, I started looking into mine as the battery securing cap was missing off the remote and I didn't know if it would still work. I think I checked the serial number on the heater itself to see what's fitted then looked at the different style of remotes available which pointed to the T91 unit. Managed to download a user manual to see how it was supposed to work,, put a new battery in and hey presto.

No, that certainly is not the case. The primary purpose of the FBH is to get the engine up to full operating temperature during cold conditions. Kev MY2014 L405 RR Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 in Corris Grey MY2010 L320 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6 in Stornoway Grey |

When buying the remote, make sure you get one with the 'ON' button and not the heating element button. Don't get this one: Get this one: Kev MY2014 L405 RR Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 in Corris Grey MY2010 L320 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6 in Stornoway Grey |

If you look in this thread, about half way down the page you will see the guide concerning installation.
