Warranty Extension

What with the 1st RR Sports approaching or having breached 3 years, is it possible to extend the warranty with Land Rover? If so, does anyone know what the costs / terms are?

Also, given your experience with warranty issues, would you pay to extend? 2022 P440e AB

The sport is only 2 years old in June 2007 - another year to go. Obviously a few pre launch cars are about but very few.

Good question though and should be looked at, I suggest a post on our sister site disco3.co.uk would probaly answer many questions as the D3 is now over 3 years old. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

The RRS was introduced in 2005, not 2004... making it only 2 years old Very Happy

I think you can purchase an LR extended warranty - whether it's worth it is arguable.

I saw 54 plate SC being hammered by Clarkson on youtube. I wrongly assumed that it would be an 2004 car. Would have to be earlier than 1st March 2005 right? A pre-launch car? 2022 P440e AB

Landrover have pestered me with numerous mailings on extending the warranty on my Disco II which would have been 3 years old last week if I had not traded it for an RRS. Cannot remember the offer but when I get another through I will let you know. 2016 RRS 4.4 TDV8 Autobiography Dynamic in Montalcino Red and Stealth Kit

I wish that LR would offer the same VIP cover that they offered with the FFRR when it was new - 1000 pounds bought you cost free servicing and maintenance - everything except fuel and tax was included (tyres and MOT were included as well). The dealer I bought mine from gave it to me for free as an incentive to buy the car (but I didn't need much persuading that I wanted to buy that car anyway as it was something I saved for 28 years to buy!) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

LR do offer an extended warranty service. A call to a dealer will give you the cost.

I would consider it having exhausted all other lines of enquiry. Eg The AA did an extended warranty a few years ago which was a lot cheaper than the manufacturers own version. Don't know if they still do Question

I've opted for a 4 year maintenance package with my new order which includes servicing, tyres and exhaust. Cost £66.41 per month inc vat. So a warranty extension in 3 years would give complete peace of mind. TDV6 - gone

Not sure re the AA one, but Warranty Direct do extended warranties on pretty much anything (not just cars). They have a quote engine on their website but as there are no out of warranty RRSs yet, it doesn't include them. It does have FFRRs and D3s though, so you might be able to get a fairly good idea from that... Thumbs Up

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 Autobiography Arctic Frost

interesting thread, i was wondering how much the extended warranty would cost when my manufacturers warranty runs out, ive just tried to find out using the website that Shmoogle posted, using a FFRR three years old, the cost comes out at £817.82

I think i will change the car before the end of the manufacturers warranty anyway but it is interesting to see the costs, if i were to buy a second hand car especially something like a RRS i would definitely get the extended cover some of my Previous cars

Given the notoriously poor reliability record, anybody would be MAD to a 3-year old RRS without some form of warranty. Therefore, an owner of car approaching that point should not only consider his own situation, but also the resale significance of a car with, or indeed without, an on-going warranty? I agree - when looking for a FFRR previously the warranty was the top factor

Brian you make out that RRS is notoriously unreliable.............................. mine and many others belonging to forum members have been the paragon of reliablity and have never (yet, because I'm now starting to get worried with all these notorouisly unreliable RRS's around!) been stranded at the roadside. I have had minor techy isuues but nothing in the 2 years since taking delivery that has left me stuck. Mine is used mainly used for local driving but 4-5 time a year it leaves Scotland to venture south to Hampshire and is a wonderful car for that sort of run. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Given that i'm picking my new second hand RRS on Friday, I'm pleased to see a comment like this.
Hope to see you around Tim. Thumbs Up 2022 P440e AB
