Without wishing to tempt fate - my own RRS is a 3.0SDV6 - the RRS is one of LR's biggest sellers and has been for years. The vast majority of those have been 3.0 V6 diesels since around 2010. Then add in the D4 and the FFRR and that's well over a couple of hundred thousand 3.0V6 diesels in the last decade. How many do you hear about with snapped cranks? Yes, it happens, but it's much less likely than a whole list of other stuff that goes wrong with the vehicles.

For example on the 3.0 V6 diesel, the inlet manifolds split and the crossover pipe splits (both of these have happened to my SDV6, as it happens). Neither is a "horror story" but both are suitably pricy.  2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I take mine to T&S Norman as Rob has said. Can’t recommend them enough and it’s really just up the road . 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.

Has said lay some money aside in a bank account that gives YOU some interest on it rather than the warranty company.
