You do have a very valid point Thumbs Up
Yes, thanks Envoy, for me, it is a very valid point, my D3 goes in again tomorrow, to sort yet more faults, (it also went in to dealers in Dec, and in early Feb, for other problems) .........and I must say I'm getting pretty p**sed off with it by now. Rolling Eyes

We all know reliability is the achilles heel of the RRS, which is a shame because otherwise it's a superb-looking, superb-driving, practical car. However, you cant beat the Germans for build quality and reliability and even the Touareg might be worth looking at as it has the same DNA as the Cayenne but cheaper AND has diesel variants!?? I'll try to keep it as short as possible, uneven and rapid tyre wear all round, noisy (tappety) engine compared with others, yet dealership denies being able to hear it, 2 areas of very poor quality paintwork, red airbag warning light illuminating every time I use car, low coolant msg every time I use car(though coolant is not low) so this is probably the well known sensor problem, front seat squabs / covers rucking up after a very short time of ownership, vibration felt through steering wheel at idle and also when accelerating, chain scraping like noise from auto box area when driving and taking foot off accelerator, poor fuel consumption, 23mpg, after dealer visit, was 26-28mpg before dealer visit........ only a small no. of these issues have been sorted, the rest ( probably the worst ones) LR and their dealerships have no intention of dealing with, and expect me to put up with them. I find their attitude absolutely unbelievable, certainly the worst customer service that I have ever received in my entire life. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry Sorry to be so negative, but these are my real life experiences with LR.

Sh*t, you're certainly not a happy bunny, are you texstar? Is your car new or 2nd hand, could the consumption issue be a wiped remap(?) as that's exactly what happened to my consumption when they uploaded new engine software which wiped my remap? Good luck anyway mate! Thumbs Up MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs

Thanks Brian/Envoy, car is mine from new, now just over a year old, has no remap to wipe either. I contacted LR about engine noise ( which in my view is the most serious issue)in first months of ownership, but they just took the dealerships word that nothing needed rectifying, I am still convinced the engine is not as it should be, but they refuse to deal with it, basically because it hasn't blown up yet. They fix the easy / non expensive things, but shy away from the real issues in my experience. Rolling Eyes

I did contact a company that do independent inpections, but they just asked where I got vehicle from, and after telling them, I never heard another thing from them....... they didn't seem interested, Does anyone on here know of any decent vehicle inspectors?........... I must admit I'd love to put it on watchdog, but really, how sympathetic do you think the general public would be, to someone with a few problems with a gargantuan diesel guzzler? Not very, sadly I'm afraid. Rolling Eyes

Good point Texstar, but I'd still mention it as a threat to get some action from LR, not as a genuine intention to get your problem on TV (I did, and it worked). Whistle MY12 SDV6 HSE Sumatra/Ebony/Piano/Sidesteps/Privacy/Overfinch Olympus/JLR DRLs
