2005 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black
Door Dents

Hi,

If you look in certain light and at an angle you can see 2 lines that look creases on the front doors. I thought these were dents that had been repaired / knocked out previously but I took the car to my body shop that a friend of mine owns and he says he's seen it on many range rovers and there is a brace in the door and its the brace which marks / indents the door which makes it visible from the outside. I only had noticed on the passenger side door, but then he showed me the driver door is exactly the same.
Anyone else noticed this?

My 2017 has some lines coming down vertically from the door handle area, if that’s what you are referring to? If it wasn’t present on both sides id be more inclined to think it was a dent. Weirdly my bodywork had other “patterns” on it that my OCD self would consider dents, but the nature of them makes me believe they were probably like that from manufacture.

I had this on my last RRS...it was black in colour and thus showed every mark...I thought it looked like there had been a repair in the area of the door handle...

Sounds exactly what I’m talking about. Can see it in certain lights and angles.

I assume it must be the way the door sheets are pressed at the factory and or bracing in that area. Dents and dings are more pronounced and have a defined centre or point to them. Any creases generally aren’t as long and larger ones have visible paint damage in my experience.
