SVR buying assistance!

Hi,

Hope this is in the right forum!

I'm looking to get an SVR, so far i've seen a 66 plate with 70k+ miles on sale at Farnell Leeds for circa £52K, i've also number a number of slightly newer vehicles with 30-40k mileage around the £55-58k mark from independent dealers.

I'd be looking to keep the vehicle for 3-4 years (cash purchase) and probably only do 9-10K miles a year.

My thoughts with the higher mileage vehicle is that when i come to sell it is that it would be over 100k miles and put people off, and is there more risk of expensive mechanical problems occurring?

Are extended warranties/service plans prohibitive in cost?

Perhaps a bit rambling but i suppose i'm weighing up saving money on the higher mileage vehicle in terms of purchase price weighted against service/warranty costs with spending more initially on the purchase price but less risk of issues down the line?

Thoughts appreciated!!

Have you checked out Autotrader, for only a bit more, just under £57k with 21300 miles. Or on your budget 56000 miles.
I would not be going for 76000 miles, come resale you will loose a packet

When I was selling my very low mileage Ftype Jaguar, they phoned, spoke about the car & phoned back fairly quickly offering me almost what I was wanting which threw me a bit coming from a dealer. However at the same time someone was looking at it & gave me the full asking price. The guy from GC was very professional, easy to speak with. Someone told me their cars are the best, no rubbish & no Censored I would certainly buy from them. Hope this helps

Don’t be put off main dealers....I just bought a fully specced 17 plate with just 12k miles for £61k...came fully serviced and immaculate.... great buy....

Just don’t panic there’s lots out there!

I think not panic buying is a good tip! I'll calm down and have a good look around before deciding rather than just jumping into the first available one!

Definitely...take your time.

I spent best part of a year and half looking for My16 sdv6 AB..even though when I started looking was not quite ready..before I came across one that had everything I wanted and more..the colour the specs..a ton of extras..to the tune of 19k extras...and price was competitive

Only thing was interior colour but tbh that is just being picky.. I love the Tan leather but my one has black...and I am more than happy with it.

Bottom line is be patient...decide on what you want and dont rush! Thumbs Up

Thats a very good deal if you got it in the last 6-12 months !! Care to name the dealer if they were London based? Non JLR Vehicle

I have a terrible habit of being impatient but I’m going to resist on this occasion. I’ve kept changing my mind on what I want, Rs6, E63 or a GLC63... but at least now I’ve settled on what I actually want!!

Cool thanks for that . . . heard good things about the Watford branch.

There's a massive new one at Staples Corner too but not heard any feedback about that one. Non JLR Vehicle

So I’ve put a deposit on an estoril blue Svr, 40k miles on a 15 plate. Quite excited now!
My mind is now moving towards stopping it being nicked, so my thoughts are to disable keyless entry, keep the keys in a metal box away from the perimeter of the house, a wheel lock and/or a retractable bollard. What does everyone else do?
In that same vein I’ve been looking for insurance quotes and direct line wouldn’t quote with details of a tracker, my personal thoughts on trackers are they are effective to a point but they don’t stop your house being broken into and they are quite easy to jam with the right equipment.
Anyone got suggestions re insurance companies?
