Hi, I was wondering what the driving range is on a new RRS P400e HSE Dynamic, Hearing rumblings it's around 25-30 miles on average with a full charge?

I have the Autobiography, in the summer the range (as indicated on the dash) has been max 50km. During the winter months it was between 32 and 35km. As always, the actual range is far from being that much. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

Normally i get everyday 36km in average...
Driving slowly i already made 46-48km

I have the fatty. I get 15 to 20 miles in London, average speed 13 moh. In the Alps I got actual 46 miles EV running on one charge! Loving the downhill recharge.

It all depends on your usage. If you mainly do short journeys, the e is a decent choice. If you mainly do long journeys, it isn't.

Might be Ok in countries where everyone is crammed in like sardines but not here - I cannot even get to my CBD with that range. 07MY RRS TDV6

The other benefit here, at least her in Finland is the car tax reduction. With the last RRS, 3.0L HSE, 2016 car tax was 980€. With the P400e - more HP, more refinement etc. Car tax is now 167€ for the year. 2019 RRS P400e Autobiography

I'm totally confused by all this, I know I'm lucky in a sense that I get free road tax due to my health (would rather pay and be well) so save £555/year on my diesel. Like the idea of more power so would love a big V8 again and yes petrol would be considered but I've this thing in my head that says think electric save the planet and so on..., but for someone who likes to drive on nice medium/long trips I don't see electric as being viable because of the charging problems, to give some idea last year I drove the Balach na Ba (sorry for the spelling mistakes my Scottish friends) 3 times in one afternoon and then on to my overnight stay, you wouldn't be able to do that as I see it ?.

Yes, you could do that in a P400e, but if you don't have EV charging ports at your destination/s then you might end up with little battery power. But even with a relatively depleted battery you'd still get plenty of overtaking power and a nice start/stop experience. On a depleted battery, your fuel economy would be noticeably worse than a diesel (driving sensibly you might get 30 to 35 mpg max, and more like 20 mpg in town). But it's faster than a diesel!

My P400e road tax is £465 per annum, it's only the first year from new that is a bargain tax-wise.
