2013 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 Autobiography Firenze Red

Tow Assist

I recently picked up a 2017 Autobiography which has a factory fit deployable tow bar. I wanted to check, will it come with tow assist or was this another option on top of the tow bar?

The terrain resposne dial doesn't have the towing symbol on there that I have seen on some YouTube videos so I wasn't sure if it has it or not?

If it doesn't have it, can it be retrofitted as I assume it is software only?

Not sure about the RRS2 but tow assist on the RRS1 was part of the surround camera system, so if you don't have that you may not have it, as there is also tow hitch assist I believe which is a different thing.

I’m 95% sure it’s optional.

On my early L494 with deployable, I have the tracking target and tow hitch guidance. I’m sure I didn’t order that piece. So was a feature that’s came with a towbar.

Having just sat in a face lifted model, newer screen etc, with deplorable, it did NOT have tow assist / target sticker etc. So I think it became a feature. Pretty mega feature. 2022 P440e AB

There’s also advanced tow assist on top of tow assist, which is what the terrain response button thing does.

I have a(n unused) tow bar. I don’t have tow assist, nor do I have 360 cameras. RRS MY17 SDV6 AB

I definitely only have a rear camera and surround sensors, not surround cameras. I might speak to the dealer to try and obtain the original spec sheet.

It would be a nice to have but not a killer as I've been towing with a 15 year old X5 for 3 years that didn't even have a camera to help line up the tow ball and hitch!

That could be what I have then. But I'm not sure if I have the tow assist (if that is what helps line up the hitch) as I have an option in the reverse camera for lining up the ball.

Im sure if you have deployable bar you will have tow assist. You have an option when selecting the rear view camera i think is the bottom of the 3 views listed which will zoom in on the tow ball when you get close. Tow assist options will not be displayed until you actually hook a trailer up and plug into the electrics that when you can list different trailers in the memory and get to use the Targeting sticker with the 3 black circles on it.

I'll have to hook the trailer up to double check then. Hopefully it does have it!
