An update to my earlier post - I ended up driving over 100 miles (including over a winding mountain road) with the red warning light on without killing the pump ...

... but repairing the two split pipes required suspension recalibration at a main dealer. Total bill over GBP1000. Ouch.

yeah the body has to be slightly lifted for it. Does sound a bit dear though. Nice to know we can make it a while before it all goes tits up.
