This is a typical complaint associated with the 3.0V6 diesel although the severity seems to vary with some saying it's hardly an issue, others like you saying it's very much an issue. My 2012 SDV6 does it too but not always and the severity of the pause is variable - which makes it damnably difficult to drive around. At junctions, I tend to manually select 1st and then hold a few revs against the brake pedal. This seems to get rid of the issue. Not always doable, of course, as it requires a complete stop to perform. I've had a couple of near misses because of the pause. It's the one thing that has prevented me "falling in love" with this RRS in the way I did with my previous TDV8.

Hi, didn't know the box was different to a re map. Right that's a great referral, I'll give them an call. Love the look and feel but I am falling out of love with mine at the moment.

A tuning box is a very crude attempt to boost power but it won't cure any underlying power curve anomalies.
