Car transport to Spain

Hi Gents,

I´m looking to get my beautiful 2016 RRS transported via the road from Almere Holland to Mijas Spain.

Anybody who could advise me on a reliable car transporter for a competitive price?

Is there any preferable setting on the pneumatic air suspension for transport?

Any other things to consider?

Thank you for your expertise. SW

I mean,

because the car will be "dancing" for over 2 days on a flatbed during the transport,
I could think that putting the car in "LOW" will make the car less bouncy.

However, still don´t know if that is better or worse for the suspension.

Please, anybody could advise me? SW

I wouldn’t have it in access because it will shake o the journey. Normal height would be just as though you drove there though, so no worse than using the car? Range Rover Sport HSE DYnamic SDV6 Velocity blue 2020 MY

There is a transport setting for the air suspension. This prevents the usual periodic wake up and relevel that happens every 4 hours. Means that once strapped in place on the transporter, it shouldn't move - thus removes the risk that the straps could become loose.

I think transport mode needs to be activated / deactivated using a suitable diagnostic device plugged in to the ODB2 port, e.g. IID Tool, Land Rover diagnostic tool, etc.

Can't help thinking it would make a for a fun road trip if you did it yourself. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Thanks for the help gents,

Yes, of course, a road trip would be lovely, however with work and 2 school-going children, there isn´t too much me time..

And driving incl diesel (1to9), 1 or 2 nights hotel, toll, and export plates with only basic insurance will come up close to 800 euro. Plus don´t forget the normal wear and tear.

I found an established car transport company from Holland with their other office/depot in Alhaurin which is 15 km from where I live!

They (REVI) charging me 875 euro plus vat and this coming Monday will already be the pickup. The car will be here 3 to 5 days after and can stay 1 week in their depot.

As I don´t have access to the required tools, I´ll leave the car in normal mode. I guess it will be ok.

Thanks again. SW
