HI I have 2012 RRS with single powered Tailgate.
The release unit has failed and the tailgate is locked in the closed position.
Dose anybody know of a way to get the tailgate open manually?
From inside the trim cannot be removed fully as it is moulded around the latch.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Just out of interest does your n/s tail light work as that is also the power source for the tailgate switch between the number plate lights, if not check Fuse No. 25 ( Red 10 amp) behind the passengers lower glove box, could also check Fuse No. 15 (White 25 amp) in the engine bay fuse box. Could try giving it a thump by the latch while somebody operates the buttons just in case it's stuck and might release it. Only suggestions.

I know I have a differnt model; and therefore design but, in case it helps, I did have an issue with my rear tail gate some time ago as my tailgate lock was stuck between unlocked and locked (!!)and it was looking pretty terminal. Indie thought they'd have to start cutting things like the trim inside to get to it. But they persevered and I think managed to get at the lock mechanism with a long bit of stiff sire (?) from under the car after taking our the rear floor shelf and the spare wheel.

This may be of no use to you at all but thought I'd mention it just in case... Robin
