United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue
AC condenser

Looks as if I need a new AC condenser,,, pools of lime green liquid under the front end after having it regarded. What's my best option for a replacement??? . Have seen items on the bay for less than £70 manufactured by NRF or do I go for a Nissens unit at £80 odds plus delivery. Anyone have experience of these NRF units as they appear slightly smaller than the Nissens unit. 2010 RRS, TDV8

England 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Rimini Red

I've got an NRF unit on my V6. It was the same size as OEM.

Only used it for about 3 days so far (so early days) but no complaints. Well packaged. I had to give the pipes a slight bend.
It's got a chineese sticker on it.

But you can't complain about a nissans unit for less than £100

I fitted the Nissens unit from Advanced Factors. It comes with new seals too. Fits well. Aircon is nice and cold.

Rusted bolts that snap is the worst problem on the bumper(cant remember if i took off front bumper to do air-con rad but i have had it off quite a few times hidden winch etc you need to ease the top slam panel up to get the rad out) and slam panel if your not doing them all the time i would allow yourself most of the day to be safe Thumbs Up

Started it today but just taking my time. Had the lights, grill and bumper off in an hour,,, hardest to move were the 2 selftappers on the underside on the corner of the wheelarch. All the slam panel bolts came out very easily and the panel itself was very easy to move forward. The two lower condenser retaing bolts were awkward to find but easy to remove. I'm at the stage now where the AC rad is loose but will only raise a couple of inches before catching on something. Had to manufacture a "special tool" in order to remove the tapper that holds the lower plastic shield in place as they are put in from the engine side,,, still struggling a bit to get ther rad out though. 2010 RRS, TDV8

They are quite tight in there i had 3 rads there on my supercharged you kinda have to lift the front panel up and forward to give some room i think if i remember hard to come out but slipped back in easier which i was surprised at i snapped two of the slam panel bolts and a few holding the bumper at the bottom too Thumbs Up

Took me about 3 hours all in to swap the condensor out. As said, the self tappers in the bumper were the worst ones to remove.
Some judicious levering was needed to get the condensor lower mount around the plastic shield.
