I'd get yourself your own diag tool to save hassle. Could it be egr valve? Also I'd check for misfires, sometimes they set the reduced performance off but no codes. Also what diag tool are they using? |

So if you wanna splash out there's the gap iid tool, it's the best one aside from actual dealer software. But it costs around £400. I purchased just a crappy £20 dongle of amazon at first. It showed enough.

Just had my inlet manifold done and my cheap code reader didn't pull up the fault. The garage had to look into historic codes to find it. Mine wouldn't let me check those |
