Thought I would test out a couple of BOATs near me in Brechfa Forest today. Not driven them before and they weren't on Trailwise. I confirmed no restrictions with CCC and went down there today, did all 3 both ways along with part of a UCR. Nothing the RRS couldn't handle but some of the ruts were pretty deep due to water damage/erosion. Some slightly challenging bits and lots of vegetation gave the car a good scratching. There was only one part I baulked at and that was a diversion around a forest gate, which whilst it was obvious had been done, was muddy rutted, humpbacked off camber and there was a metal post. I was on my own and didn't fancy it without a spotter. However, all in all a fun hour in the forest with my car and I now have a new way to avoid the roadworks that will likely be coming to my local county road soon!

We did some Brechfa on that day that seems so many years ago now, didn't we? 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

Yes, that's right. We went up one of the BOATs and the UCR all the way to the farm yard at the end - your last lanes. The other 2 routes come off the UCR, join and then meet the same county road as the end of the UCR.

Previously I’ve driven D3 and 4 off road but just got an RRS TDV8. and not a million miles from you near Llandovery. Maybe we could buddy up for some green lanes - mutual spotting 👍🏽
