Thought it was steering angle sensor, but ????

My P440e threw up a load of orange errors. Stability Control not available, Autonomous Emergency Braking not available, Forward Alert not available, Hill Descent Control not available.

The car is under warranty so I called Land Rover assist who came out quite quickly and plugged in their diagnostic machine. Nothing absolute, but the lad said it was all pointing to the Steering Angle Sensor.

Off it went to Parks Land Rover in Ayr. That was just over 2 weeks ago. The checked and confirmed it was the steering angle sensor and got the warranty approved and ordered the part. Which took a week to arrive. I called today for an update and was told they fitted the new part, but there is still a problem and the tech is no on to Land Rover UK for advice and next steps. They don't have a clue when I might get my car back.

Has anyone had this before? Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e

My car has now been in the dealer since 21st February to get this steering angle sensor sorted. They say they have fitted the new part but it made no difference. They say they are in communication with LR tech who ask them to try things and they report back and then they try something else. I did ask if it was possible the supplied part could have been faulty on arrival, but was told the technician would already have checked that.

I know they are very infrequently working on the car as I get notifications on my phone when the doors are opened. Today is Friday and I have had 1 notification this week.

The dealer says their hands are tied as they have to follow LR process.

Does anyone have any comments on this or can offer advice on an escalation path I can take please. Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e

Demand a courtesy vehicle due to the amount of time yours has been layed up, that usually gets them to speed things up somewhat as the Dealer has to foot the bill!

Hi, I've got one. Land Rover assist gave me a 24 plate Velar. My guess is that it might cost £1000 per week in hire car costs? Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e

Had this after doing a set of brake pads (unbelievably!)

Turns out, the wiring had come loose of its clip around the column, had short circuited and blown the fuse Banging Head

I would really like to think that between the dealer and LR Tech, they would already have tried fuses???? Surely? Although I will mention it to them.

Many thanks for your help. Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e

Shouldn't be difficult to diagnose

This one was lost comms to SAS.

Once I'd remade both earth points and established it was nothing id done, dug the wiring diagram out, checked for power/earth/CAN comms, and found no Ign 12v feed, checked the fuse and it was blown (And yes, i did check it in the wrong order Whistle )

You'd hope* that was checked before condemning the SAS module though

*some of the misdiagnosed issues we see are astounding, almost to the point where we question if someone is trying to catch us out Confused

Thanks very much. I'll let them know. You did a gearbox, transfer box and diff oil change for me on a 2007 TDV8 sport, in a car park at my work in Clydebank many, many years ago. Thanks Current - 2020 Range Rover Sport P400e
