More noise from my 4.2 s/c

Afternoon all, just bought a 2006 range rover sport 4.2 supercharged.

Love the car and has all the bells and whistles, just after a bit more noise.
Read up on res deletes and straight pipes. Any one done this over a cat back exhaust?
Also havent seen anything on cone filters? Any one fitted?
I know its a big car and has decent power so not looking for "gainz" merely after a bit more noise, who doesnt love a growling v8!

Cheers in advance

I did the same and it unleashes that beautiful V8 rumble and roar! 2016 RRS SVR Estoril Blue
2005 4.2L Supercharged Java Black - gone but was my first love.

If we all point our RR's in the same direction and accelerate at the same time can we turn back time?

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

got rid of the middlebox. id be wary of cone filters, supposedly they lead to lean codes but never tried em myself.

Australia 2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Bonatti Grey

Hi AMGMATT,
As you can see I am from the Land Down Under and have a 2006 4,2 s/c. More importantly I have made some inexpensive exhaust changes to give the "right" V8 sound.
When I got the car a few years ago it already had the rear resonators replaced with 3 " chrome tail pipes. - Did npt sound loud at all, just a burble at idle.
Wanting more of a 'note' I did some research and found that removing the second muffler (the shell one) and replacing it with straight pipes made it great and saved about 20kg in weight. This left only the front muffler with only slight drone at 90kph,
It was like that for about 2 years until I decided to tow a 2 ton caravan. This meant I would be in a longer/ louder done zone whilst towing the 6700 klms I intended. So I decided to put some 4" round resonators back where the orginals where located to quiten it down a tad.

So I would suggest removing the Shell muffler at the front first and see what it sounds like. Then if you want some more you can look at the rear cans. Idea 2006 4.2 S/C with Tow Pack, Side Steps, DRL's, 19" & 20" wheels, additional 110 ltr Fuel Tank Roof Rack and performance mods.

1952 Rover 75 (Cyclops) First Car !!! Fond memories -was restored-good for 93mph.
