Ah the skidmark of sudden component death.. any ideas which bit died in a ball of fire there? I'd assume something like a power transistor.. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

He had to not so much repair but bypass the blow components to allow him to pull the codes and then clone to a S/H unit, the circuit boards on my unit were shot so it was unrepairable.

One of the main fault codes was DC DC converter error. Steve Steve 2005 2.7 TDV6 HSE, ongoing project. 1998 Volvo V70 R auto FWD, mothballed future project. 1999 BMW Z3 (owned from new) garage queen. |

I’m currently working nights but got the chance today to take her for a proper drive to check the new ECU performs all through the range with no errors. Well what can I say it’s a different car!! it’s lost all the sluggishness it had before which I thought was normal what with the weight and the reputed turbo lag of the 2.7 but she drove fantastic, really pleased with the performance and long may it continue.
