Drivers Seat

My drivers seat (2010 Facelift fully electric) has started to creak since a rather large gentleman literally jumped in it to move the car.

Also, when you lower it fully, one side gets to the bottom/stop before the other.

The passenger seat goes down level and reaches the bottom/stops together.

The creak is driving me mad, and no amount of lubricant on the various pivots reduces it.

Is it likely that the base needs to be replaced, and if so, is this an easy enough job?

Thanks in advance.

When you're sitting on the seat and driving put your hand in-between the seat and centre console side trim....it should stop squeaking if that's where its coming from?

Had the same with mine and put a bit of velcro there. been fine since RRS TDV6 2010 Smile

Done that thanks, unfortunately that isn't my problem.

It appears to be if I rock the seat sideways, so when I am driving and go round any corner, it happens. 2010 3.6 TDV8 HSE (Gone)

UPDATE.

As unable to remove seat base, had another look at the problem.

It appears one side of the seat has more movement than the other, and as a result when the seat height is reached, the transmission tunnel side pivots still want to move.

However there is a hole in the seat frame under the rear pivot, and in this I put a M8 bolt which the pivot now rests on.

Problem solved as the diameter of the bolt is the right thickness for the seat to be at the height I want it.

No more squeaking.
