I bought a new 2012 Sport and it had a key missing. Went to main dealer who wanted £300+ for additional key- so went to independent who charged me £150 for main key, bought a £6.00 blank off eBay and paid £15 for laser cutting. Indy said that because my car was a newer one and because my vin number was D (at digit 10) I needed a new key module at £200ish plus programming. I didn't think that was right so purchased a Gap IID BT - tried adding with that to be told needed ECU update. Spoke to Gap support who provided the update file and new key added within seconds.
