My phone lives on the drivers centre air vent - and my GPS works fine.. not an iPhone, admittedly (it's a OnePlus 7T Pro), but comparable I'd have thought. 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

No GPS works well in our car - iphone, Land Rover phone or Garmin. Its down to the windscreen I think 2012 SDV6 HSE (technically its hers)

I find the same. GPS hit and miss in my 2017. Better the closer to the windscreen but still has issues. I presume due to the heated windscreen element. |

I think the RRS2 may have a solar attenuating windscreen which could possibly affect the gps signal on a phone.
