I need two new front tyres. Can anyone recommend the best place to either get them online or local to me here on the Devon and Cornwall border.

have a look at Asda's tyres you then pick a local fitter all included in the price Asda just ship them to your fitter
although
I then got kwikfist to price match and had one fitted there Pirelli Verde all season £192

ps. have it for sale on a diamond cut alloy, but you look a bit far away

I recently had to buy two new Pirelli 275 40 R20s for my RRS (as a result of pothole damage detailed elsewhere on this forum) and happened to be in my local STS Tyre Pros place when the damage was realised. They quoted me £168 each under some sort of price match scheme even though I hadn't even got as far as to query the price. Same tyres on Black Circles today (who I've used in the past) are £172!

And another interesting fact was that in looking at the two Pirellis I had bought from Black Circles last November for my car, they noticed that one of them was 5 years old already. So whilst legal (I believe manufacturers suggest a maximum of 6 years of age) it is a bit disconcerting. I would not have thought to check the actual age of a newly fitted tyre but will do in future!

I wonder if Andy (Tyrefitter) has any thoughts on this... Robin

A bit naughty selling a tyre that is 6 years old even though their is no legal issue with putting them on,i always check the dates when I get delivery,anything older than 18 goes back,especially caravan tyres as a lot of insurance companys say ins void if tyre is older than 7 years (in the small print) so fittint a year 17 to a caravan or motorhome then they have to change them again in 4 years to stay within ins Andy.
