United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Orkney Grey
Is it just the Battery?

Just recently when I've started the car the clock spins round to 12:00 and I have to reset it. Then the other day I pressed the start button, the hazards flashed, radio came on clock span and the engine would not start. auto headlights were on and the oil fired heater had just been running to warm the car.
After an hour on the ctek all was ok again, but my question was, is this just a case of a battery needing replacement. The car tends to sit on the drive and do shorter local journeys these days, but I thought the fuel burning heater would not come on if the battery voltage was too low. so how come that worked but the car would not. there are some errors shown in the GAP tool mostly about lost communication etc.

Should I just replace he Battery or does it sound like there maybe another underlying cause.

Also.
If replacing the battery should I go for an exide EK950 95AH again or is there an upgrade that would work better these days.

Thanks in advance -----------------------------------------------

United Kingdom 2010 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Bali Blue

i have had the same issues lately and blamed too many short journeys as my battery isnt too old. if your battery is more than 5 years old maybe youve had your monies worth out of it. i would try putting the charger on it once or twice a week to keep the battery topped up or ask your local indie to test the charging system. they will be able to say if the battery is holding its charge and also check the charging system a health check.
I'm sure their are a few threads on here regarding best batteries to fit. 2010 RRS, TDV8
