Anyone come up with a non roof rail solution yet? I really need roof bars but begrudge paying around £500 to get a set on!

They look right! How do they fix to the roof (it says fix points, which I don’t think I have?)

These are the bars fitted. They seem to go on ok and the bars look good quality. The feet are a bit cheap and lack some backing or rubber padding to protect the roof edge. That said I reckon they’ll do me for a couple of Thule bike racks. I’ll just have to cobble together some rubber/ protection strip for the edge. £139 from eBay was pretty reasonable though and I can’t understand why a premium manufacturer like Thule can’t make some for this car

There is probably some restriction put on Thule by LR so that Thule cannot under cut LR prices........... 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I still have roof cross bars that I used on my 2 Evoques and the accessories expert at the BMW dealer told me that the roofbox fittings for the Evoque are different, the Land Rover roof box clamps onto the cross bars, the BMW one bolts on with a T shaped bolt that sits in the track under the flusher on the LR bars........ so I bought some BMW rebranded Thule crossbars........ when I got home I compared the two sets......... the only difference was the Evoque bars were a couple of inches longer, but as they have removable end caps I could have done the cutting to size with a hack saw ..... and saved the £185 i paid for the same bars From BMW. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Has anyone actually tried to use evoque feet, or even the pre 2013 models feet?

I have a MY18 no roof rails and a set of Thule wingbars with feet that I bought for s previous Evoque. Since I am not paying for rails or a new set of bats I will try to fit and post the results here before the end of the week. On first pass looks like they should fit though! |

That would be awesome. I reckon your right, I looked at the fitting kit for the Evoque and thought it looked like a similar roof shape.

Very helpful; I got in touch with the UK distributor for the excellent Whispbar - which I used for 5 yrs on my L320 Supercharged - and they indicated that there was no suitable whispbar option for our MY17 Autobiography - unless we drilled through the roof trim?
