Morning all, looking for a bit of painting advice please.

I'm trying to paint my HVAC knobs to match the Noble Chrome finish. By chance I found a good match and proceeded with degreasing the knobs then applying an epoxy primer before wet sanding (1000 grit) and applying 3 coats of rattle can silver.

The finish is far from great. I want to apply a further coat or two of silver before sealing it.

Can someone advise on best steps and what grit to use to get a decent finish, I will be using gloss lacquer to seal, and hopefully extend the life of the finish.
