I've owned my 2005 RRS 4.2 Supercharged for one year now. I've generally never really thrashed it about, just more of a cruiser.

Im in the process of selling it as i need a more suitable car for my wife to learn in. Unfortunately for me while taking the prospective buyers for a ride, who are both mechanics, they asked me to floor it on the dual carriage way which i obliged. However, the 'Reduced Engine Performance' sign popped up and i was pretty much in limp mode until i got back home.

Worst timing ever as they were going to buy until this occured!

I've read online that it could be straightforward auxillary pump issue to be replaced? I just wanted to get the assurances from people who have had the same issue before and if they could let me know roughly what a garage may charge for it as i may just reduce the price to sell or get the work done.

sometimes the wires just need reversing on the pump.

fitting a new pump may not help in this case

you really need to read the fault codes or ask the mechanic/buy to read for you!

Pump is about 100quid and replacing it shouldn't take more than an hours Labour. If your attempting it id get the appropriate tool to get the wires out of their plug
