Having only recently discovered you can swap between the two I have had a play about between the two and the surround is a much nicer superior sound a lot clearer, just the setting stereo appears to drop out the rear headlining speakers along with the centre one in the dash at least and it is just a horrible muffled sound to me personally, there really is quite a difference but then we don't all have the same tastes fortunately.

Aha ok. I have been in other cars where stereo doesn’t block out speakers like that so sounds like the surround could well be better here. I am sure it will be a marked improvement to what is in this current car anyway, so I am looking forward to listening to it

Mind you some off the horrible muffled sound could actualy be the instantly forgettable manufactured crap they call music these days, generation thing I guess
