Rear passenger door lock wasn't working so purchased this one from ebay:

Garage took the old one out and it's different. It has a motor at the to whereas the new one doesnt. The old unit is a bit bigger too and has an extra plug at the top (4 pins).



I can't find a replacement one though :/

Does anyone know what the difference between the two is?

Had to have the right rear door lock motor unit replaced on my 2010 TDV6 earlier in the year. It seems that there is a difference depending upon whether ot not you have keyless entry.

The bigger one is a keyless one and the smaller one isn't. Kev

What would happen if I fitted the non keyless one? Would it just be a case of the keyless entry not working, but the door would still lock/unlock with the fob? Or would it throw up an error code and the keyless stops working altogether?

I only ask because my current lock doesn't work at all. So I may have to fit this temporary until I get a replacement.

If only you knew what a job it is, you would not want to do it twice!

Get the correct part and don't waste your time is my advice.

The delivery time on the new lock is a week, so I can't be without a car for that long. I've just put the old one back in for now

I feel your pain, i had exactly the same thing with my driver door lock before Christmas. Yes the bigger one is for keyless entry and the smaller one is not and the keyless version is about £100 more. It's a pain in the arse to do but there is a great video on youtube showing how to remove it. Once you have done it once it's pretty easy.
