Can anyone suggest a wire somewhere in the centre console and that might have a bit of spare capacity - ignition-switched if possible?

The ones to the front/rear cigarette-lighter look a bit weedy to me.

cigarette ones are the only ones I can think of

I think the fridge connector could be used for permeant 12v

I haven't done it myself but how difficult would it be to run your own wire back to the glove box fuse box (under the carpet edge and then use a piggy back fuse on perhaps the horn fuse in there??? Robin

My tablet PC, which has a 12 V charger stating 6 A. The 'fridge connector is probably the way to go, though I will need to unwrap the loom to get enough wire to connect to - and, firstly, check it has power to it (before I find it needs a CCF change to activate it!). I have to assume the cigarette-lighter outlets aren't up to it and/or in use (they usually are).

It’s 15A per power outlet, so that is
Plenty. Connect to the wires under it.
