The belts in my 2001 D2 and the RRS behave the same way (ie ratchet back once fully extended), the rear belts in the RRS aren´t as long as in the D2 however. I think it is to enable firm fixing of belt-secured car seats - otherwise they would flop around....

Had the same prob last week putting 2 car seats in the back didn't think anything to it till now all good in my books RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

I guess the idea behind them locking when fully extended is good. I just wasnt aware of it.

Well I swapped the car and got a new one but not for this reason. As stated here it appeares to be a "feature".

it is a feature of the car. Believe it is due to european regulation with baby and infant car seat in order to keep them in good position Range Rover Vogue ‘17 TDV6
