Not really as the load rating is the main thing,,V rating tyres are rated for 149mph were as the H rated is 131mph which if yours is a diesel I cannot seeing going above either. Andy.

I went for V rated; as you say, the wet grip is significantly better. Also, IIRC, the owners manual calls for V-rated tyres and an insurance company could take a dim view of having lower rated tyres in the event of an accident 2014 BMW 530d Touring, 2006 BMW 650i, 2018 Mini Cooper S |

It'd be worth getting the V for the better wet grip, I'd suggest. Sure, they're a few quid more but if it means not hitting the back of the idiot in front of you on the motorway... 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

Indeed so. But if you have the situation I had recently where the van two in front wasn't paying attention. The guy behind couldn't/didn't see the slow moving "queue". I couldn't either as they were both blocking my view. The van saw the queue at the last moment, braked and swerved in to the adjacent lane. The guy behind stood on his brakes and had to move half across the lanes to avoid rear ending the back of the queue. I reacted and stopped in time but it was a proper hard braking event. ABS and EBA worked well that time, I can tell you! Of course, the guy behind me changed lanes to avoid hitting my rear because he was close to me. We all carried on but we heard on the radio a little while later that the motorway was closed by an accident. I'm sure someone further back must have failed to brake in time. All started by the van not paying attention and most people being too close.

I certainly agree with your last statement & most of them don't even flick an indicator to show they are coming, but manage to flick something else if you flash your lights at them |

I'm with you on this - very annoying! Another one that gets me is people who overtake, pull in front, then slow down to a speed slower than you Kev MY2014 L405 RR Vogue SE 4.4 SDV8 in Corris Grey MY2010 L320 RRS HSE 3.0 TDV6 in Stornoway Grey |
