United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Zermatt Silver
Instrument panel mileage / trip display - no backlight

As per title - the right hand lcd (mileage/trip) does not illuminate. Everything else is ok. Any ideas?

Has it had the issue with the can bus sorted in the past? It may be worth checking the connections on the back. You could also try banging the dash above the binnacle you see if you can get anything to happen. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Only had the car a month so I don’t know any of its history- I’ll try the “technical tap” approach first. RRS 2006

It’s not a cure but if you get some flashes of light you know you have a contact issue. It’s been used to successfully diagnose cluster issues in the past.

It’s also a good way to relieve some frustration!! 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Update - it’s working now. No technical tap required. I’ll keep an eye on it and hopefully it’s not a sign of further impending doom. RRS 2006
