2007 RRS 3.6 key fobs not working

Hi,

Key fob stopped working to lock and unlock car - assumed batteries dead as don't use the car a lot and it is an 07 - changed battery on pcb but the fob still does not work. Checked voltage on other fob and battery same voltage as new battery but that fob doesn't work either - voltage dips when press a button - any ideas?

This is without installing the pcb and key into new fobs I ahve bought but can't see that would stop fob function working.

Cheers,

Dean

Haven't had mine long same model as yours exactly but the handbook says that the battery charges whilst in the ignition switch, mine came with 2 keys & I alternate the use of them to keep them charged.

i was under the same impression, that the keys charged up during use! i have had many Green Oval vehicles over the years and never changed a battery in any of them! Current: 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE

The later ones do have a changeable battery in them as they're keyless in use, but a 2007 has a self-charging key. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I’ll have to sell the RRS before the battery runs out then! Don’t like tackling complex jobs!.. Current: 2010 RRS 3.6 TDV8 HSE

One of my fobs needs the battery replacing.. last time I pulled the side off all the bits (emergency key, a little metal springy bit) flew out and I spent 10 minutes trying to get it back together Whistle Mr. Green I haven't been brave enough to try and find the battery, yet!
