Tracker/Insurance mixed messages?!

Has anyone else found that when clarifying trackers with insurance companies they get mixed messages back leading you to think whether you’re either a) spending more than you need to on an additional tracker (ie cat s5) or b) taking a risk on sticking with land rover’s own InControl secure (non PRO version)?

Land Rover’s own insurance refer only to InControl secure so you feel you have to believe that 🤣 and then LV who are my most reasonable quote have told me that any tracker will do, even if it’s not auto alert so including InControl secure where owner has the App and ability to report stolen vehicle.

I can’t be the only one finding the clarity of all this tracker stuff murky at best.

Looked at Trackstar (s5) + 3 years subscription =£900 which is fair enough but not massively keen on car being messed with plus £900 is £900!

Thanks everyone and look forward to any replies

Find a insurance company that doesn't need a tracker,do you want your car back after its been ragged around Bradford all night.Spend the money on Gap insurance so you get the money back you paid for your car. Andy.
