I have had this issue for a while now and although the latch opens and closes the Tailgate wont rise or close. well it did today but only 1ft then back to not closing or opening. I checked all fuses in the Luggage area and found and replaced one , could not determine what the fuse was. Batteries checked and seem ok. can anyone assist please

My MY62 HSE used to do that and it was particularly bad when the car was parked on a slope facing downwards. In that orientation, there's a greater force needed to lift the tailgate and the mechanism can't cope. Battery condition is also a factor but you have checked that. 2016 L494 SDV8 AB

Thanks for the info. It seams to have healed itself . i mucked around yesterday with the resets etc. maybe that did it. I hear you on the battery as a few times during detail etc it has failed due to electrics being on . radio etc. hopefully that's it done.

I would have taken it to the dealer however, that's very high risk here
