Another one for the AA. Just reinsured with them. Cheapest of the big firms and lowest excess. There is no replacement for displacement - W O Bentley

For comparison, I’m 42, been driving for 25 years, 17 years no claims (not that anything over 5 years makes a difference), cars is 2012 5.0 SC, HM Forces, no points or convictions, post code is NG34 and I pay £500 in 10 instalments. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

Just wondering if you are doing an auto-renew type renewal as it has been highlighted on several consumer programs recently that if you have auto-renewed in the last couple of years many insurers are using it as a way of further ripping off long standing customers. Trying phoning your current insurer for an explanation and tell them to recalculate the premium. I had this when I was insured with Land Rover Insurance 4 years ago with my Defender’s cover. They to,d me that they had made a mistake with calculating the premium (likely story) and reduced the quote from about £920 to £380 so I shopped around.I moved to NFU Mutual through their local agent (don’t use their website go to the nearest office) and the “best quote” from LRA of £380 dropped to £198 with NFU and it has only increased by £5 in 4 years too which might be insurance tax rather than anything else. The value of my Defender has also increased phenomenally in the last 3 years and I now have an agreed value that I didn’t originally have. NFU also cover me for off-road use which LRA excluded after years of it being a standard cover item! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
