Sorry I'm probably being thick but their answer is to leave it for another year and for you to monitor the situation, and you're happy with that? I'm not mechanically minded but I wouldn't be comfortable with that approach with winter we're predicted I'd want everything 100% now, but I guess you're more comfortable/ understand the risk of failure more than I do. 2008 TDV8 Buckingham Blue- SOLD |

I agree, if the pipes corroded & diff leaking, I would want it fixed now, not next year.

It’s due MoT next March so it can be done in February,I did mention getting them to MoTing it early but they said if they did that then the warranty company might start asking why it’s been done early,as for the leaking diff the cars parked on my drive every night & their is no sign of oil on the floor & I haven’t noticed it when I’ve had it up on the lift at work so it can’t be that bad. Andy.

If you're cool with that, and like I say you know the risks of failure better than I do, and it's done for free then all is good 2008 TDV8 Buckingham Blue- SOLD |

Ive had the car up in the air today & the brake pipes are corroded, ive cleaned them up & greased them but im now getting prices for new ones as they are easy enough to swap,i don't fancy leaving them till next feb when I can take it to Hatfields for mot.By the time ive taken it to them £20 in fuel probably full wack for mot £54.85, £50 excess on MoT warranty & a fail on the cert for brake pipes I might as well just do them myself & mot it myself. Andy.

It's a good job you know what you are doing, do you think there was a chance of the brake pipes failing before MOT? 2008 TDV8 Buckingham Blue- SOLD |

I wasn't going to risk it for the sake of £144 what Dan at duckworths has quoted for new pipes & half hour of my time to do them.LR offered to do them but the earliest I can take it in for mot is mid feb & like I said before with all the cost of mot & excess im nearly at the price of the pipes, plus it would be worrying me every time I drove it that one of the pipes was going to fail when I hit the middle pedal. Andy.

I was just pulling your leg. I don't blame you, as my earlier post I'd be crapping myself re possible brake failure, glad you have sorted it 2008 TDV8 Buckingham Blue- SOLD |

MOT advisory on mine for rear pipes (I know, L320, not the same car etc) but a quick check on AFs webpage suggests those pipes are stupidly cheap pre-formed.. I am pleasantly surprised!

I’m just waiting for them getting back to me with a date for the diff leak sorting as they will need it 2 days plus they need to get me a courtesy car. Andy.
