Drag racing a 5.0L L494...

I realise this is probably not everyone's cup of tea...

A friend of mine here in Sydney has a 2014 Autobiography 5.0L Supercharged, and we've been slowly working away on making it faster.

Got rid of the two centre mufflers, put an x-pipe in there

So it sounds the part now.

Got the guy who did the engine tune in my XKR to make a tune for it.

And we took it to the drag strip.

Tonight was the best run so far, 12.94 @ 109.12mph

Still working through some issues, mostly the intercooler which is a very different arrangement to the Jags, and not exactly great at cooling down the charge air, will need some improvement there.

The goal is to eventually run a 12.5 with this thing.

Is anyone else taking a RRS down the dragstrip? Jaguar XKR

Haha, great idea, to go the opposite way of driving a Range Rover. Cool
One reason, not the main one to buy my first RR was, because I wanted a car nobody got forced to race... Laughing 2012 RRS HSE SDV6, BOURNVILLE 12/12-10/14

What about altering the supercharger pulley. I read somewhere there is a company that specialises in them.

Great stuff

An Australian friend who modified his F type exhaust with an "X" Crossover (same as on a Jag XFR-S) found the BHP was down, and the engine needed the exact same ECU map as the XFR-S to bring the power up. Just FYI in case it helps.. MY2016 HSE D SDV6 - gone due to fuel dilution problems.
