My 2016 pre facelift and pre pre interior update has HUD... it shows it on topix but not on the original sales blurb...but saying that I think that is due purely to the dealer not ticking the relevant boxes on the advertisement...

The advertisements aren't as concise as they should be - maybe they are missing a trick but I'm not gonna say why on here - they already take the thanks again for the replies

It came out in 2015 as I put back delivery on my car so that I could get it. However, my dealer phoned to say although it cost (from memory) around £900 you had to take the rear entertainment pack at around £2000+ in order to get it. As no one sits in the back of my cars it was a no thanks . Just another JLR money making scam. Think its changed now without the add ons |

In addition to the rear seat entertainment you had to have (and still have to have) the UV reflective coated front screen at extra cost - I wouldn’t ever pay JLR to have it as it is so overpriced, but I ticked that box for the Countryman and the BMW HUD is really good even if it could do with displaying more info and at £300 extra well worth it. It is built into the dash but has its own pop up screen rather than needing a special coated front windscreen. There are better aftermarket HUD systems available that the JLR one too. I really like the BMW/Mini HUD - it is just in the line of sight but not intrusive or distracting and you can easily see it in bright sunlight shining in through the front screen, which isn’t the case with the JLR system i’ve been told, which becomes unreadable in bright sunlight.

Um, maybe the JLR HUD is 3 times the price because the font is three times bigger?!

I like the HUD on my SVR and now that I have it I wouldn’t drive one without. |
