Replace tank cradle - how easy is it really?

Hi all (yet again!),

My 2005 RRS tank cradle is in dire need for replacement. I have a new WFN500021 (and spare bolts RYG500270, washers WJ110006 and retaining nuts KYH500100). How easy is it for me to change the cradle with a suitable helper?

I've seen some people have run the tank low (~15-30 miles remaining) and then been able to strap the tank up using pairs of 1m heavy duty cable ties. The recommended LR process seems to be a complete removal of the tank and refit and it doesn't look like a quick sunny afternoon job.

Question is, if I go the "strap the tank up" route, what did others strap the tank to without damaging anything? Smile

Also how heavy is the tank with about .5-.75 of a gallon of diesel sloshing around?

Thanks as always.

'tang.
